The brainchild of lifelong guitarist Forest Bailey, Lapidary originally emerged in 2024. A return-to-roots playing of electric guitar styles after years as a solo acoustic musician came to a slow during the great timeout of 2020-2022.

Parsing influences from Covet, Chon and Plini, to Michael Hedges and Scale The Summit through a lens grounded in Forest’s background of fingerpicking and experimenting with alternate tunings and unorthodox techniques. Based in Nashville, Tennessee, Lapidary is a two piece band. Guitar & Drums being the main instruments. A uniquely nuanced, expressive, and nerdy take on instrumental storytelling — self-dubbed as “Detail Rock”.
